HRH Prince Charles and HM Queeen Sofia of Spain were both awarded the Montblanc Gaius Maecenas fountain pen for long term support for the arts and culture

HRH Prince Charles and HM Queeen Sofia of Spain were two of twelve who received awards of the Montblanc Gaius Maecenas fountain pen for long term support for the arts and culture at the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Awards.

HRH, The Prince of Wales, Charles was recognised for his work as a patron of the arts.  Prince Charles said “Art played a significant role in helping people understand themselves”,  as he accepted the 20th  Anniversary Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage award at a ceremony at Apsley House in central London where  Prince Charles was awarded thе Montblanc fountain pen which іѕ dedicated tο Gaius Maecenas, a historical figure whο іѕ recognised аѕ thе very first patron οf thе arts.

Charles is a patron or president of more than 20 performing arts organisations, the majority of which the Prince founded himself. "He wants every young child to have an understanding of the arts and culture," Mr Bethge said.
