For those who don't know... The Queen's Diamond Jubilee is approaching!

Queen visiting Leicester on Thursday 8th March 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee

I have just heard that The Queen will be visiting Leicester, England this Thursday 8th March 2012 to begin the Diamond Jubilee tour.

Her Majesty the Queen, and the Royal Highnesses the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge, will visit the city.

The royal party are set to visit De Montfort University and Leicester Cathedral, where they will have lunch, before making their way to the Clock Tower in the city centre.

What’s the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee?

Some people have asked what it is all about, although we keep hearing about The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee just what is it?

In 1952, 6^th February, The Queen came to the throne.  The Diamond Jubilee marks 60 years of the The Queen’s reign.  The Diamond Jubilee celebrations will take place on the 2-5^th of June 2012 and for this will receive a bank holiday, which is great news, so we can all celebrate together!
